Belinda Johnson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the state of North Carolina. Belinda felt called to graduate school to study counseling after spending 20 years as an educator. She realized she was more concerned with her students’ hearts than their academics. Since then she graduated from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2009 with a Masters in Christian Counseling. She has been a member of Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology, since 2009. She is a Prepare/Enrich certified premarriage/marriage counselor. She has 4 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Prior to her clinical work she had an additional 4 years experience as a lay counselor at her church.
Belinda’s heart is to walk alongside those who are hurting and help them find wholeness and healing both emotionally and spiritually. She has experience with a diversity of issues including anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma, eating disorders, personality difficulties, and family relationship struggles. Belinda has spent time working, in particular, with substance abuse in an inpatient rehab as a counselor where she still occasionally holds an educational clinical group therapy. Belinda is also available as a guest lecturer/therapist for psycho-educational seminars and as a facilitator for healing retreats.
Belinda has been married to her high school sweetheart for 30+ years and is the proud mom of two grown daughters and one son-in-law. She loves to be outdoors hiking, jogging, biking, and snow skiing. She also loves to read and is always happy to recommend a good book.
