Vincent Costa, who is pursuing licensure as a licensed professional counselor in NC, brings to his clinical practice the experience of over 20 years of working internationally in cross-cultural ministry as a biblical teacher, mentor and pastoral counselor. His unique and distinctive experience working with cross-cultural clients makes him very sensitive to cultural issues and overtones within psychotherapy, such as the traditional European and Japanese respect for authority figures and the effects of the conflict between Eastern values of dependence and group harmony and Western values of independence and autonomy.

He is married to his wife, Cathy, for over 30 years and they have two grown children.  Dr. Costa currently counsels children and adolescents; adult men and women; pre-marital and married couples; family units, and small groups.  His education and training is obtained from pastoral ministry, course work, and supervised internships, as well as serving as a pastor and missionary.  He has many years of  international ministry which has given him hands-on experience in: Mediation and Reconciliation; Facilitating the reconciliation of conflicted church groups and leadership teams; Team Building; Church Planting and Biblical Counseling; Equipping and empowering leadership teams by mentoring/training/facilitating leaders: observing, inspiring, challenging, giving timely feedback and co-laboring to assure the leaders' ability to be successful
